Programming & Design

For the 2025 Big Mode Game Jam, I got together with two close friends and jammed for a long weekend to Create Entangled, a tile-based puzzle game where the goal is to strategically place and rotate nodes that add or reduce power to a particle, with the goal of leading it to the end node.

I handled the entirety of the game's programming, and led the design on the core gameplay mechanics and level layouts.

I kept the puzzle design relatively simple, and allowed for modular complexity with a variety of mechanics that can be added to levels. I also wanted to allow for "soft completion", where the player can complete a level by simply getting to the end, or opt for more difficult solutions to obtain both gold stars in a level. These gold stars reward the player by unlocking more levels depending on how many the player has.
